August1991 three Amateurs were talking on two meters and decided that Hemel and
District needed a Radio Club, so letters were sent to all the Amateurs they
could find. A meeting was held in September in Heath Park, the local pub
and to their surprise with an intial 25 people D.A.R.T.S was born
The Club has had its ups and downs but the crowning glory was GB17 USA in conjuction with R.A.F.A.R S (RAF Halton). We were QRV on HF & VHF and made in excess of 1500 contacts all around the world in 30 days. The Club has taken part in the local Carnival for many years in Hemel Hempstead promoting Amateur Radio Club Nets we have several 433.025 FM the local 70cms Repeater on Mondays 20:00 - 21:00 GMT 144.725 FM Wednesdays 19:30 GMT our Normal Net Controller is Terry G0TIW who is QTHR OR Via Email terry.g0tiw@yahoo.co.uk
